Accessing Update Management

The Update Management feature in WP Spotlight makes it easy to keep your WordPress site up to date by providing quick options to update all plugins or all themes with available updates. This feature saves time by allowing you to handle updates in bulk, ensuring that your site remains secure and optimized with minimal effort.

Open WP Spotlight: Use the main key bind Alt+S (Check key bind customization to set your own keyboard shortcut)

Select Update:

  • Use the key bind for Update if you’ve assigned one (default: Ctrl+Alt+U).
  • Or, access Update from the WP Spotlight main menu.

How to Use Update Management in WP Spotlight

Access the Update Feature

Use the key bind for Update (default: Ctrl+Alt+U) to open the Update Management feature directly, or open WP Spotlight and select the Update option from the main search menu.

Choose Update Options

When the Update feature is selected, you will see 3 options in the submenu:

Plugins: After selecting this option, you’ll see a list of all the plugins on your WordPress dashboard that have updates available, and at the top will be the Update All option. You can choose to update plugins individually or update them all with one click.

Themes: After selecting this option, you’ll see a list of all the themes on your WordPress dashboard that have updates available, and at the top will be the Update All option. You can choose to update themes individually or update them all with one click.

WordPress Core: Selecting this will update the WordPress core if there’s any available.

The Update Management feature ensures that managing updates for plugins and themes is straightforward, efficient, and integrated within your WP Spotlight workflow, giving you peace of mind that your WordPress site is always up to date with minimal effort.
