Plugin Installation & Activation

Welcome to WP Spotlight! This guide will walk you through setting up WP Spotlight for the first time, so you can start accessing its powerful search and management features immediately.

Step 1: Purchase & Download

Navigate to our pricing page, select a plan that suits your needs, and complete the purchase.

Once your purchase is complete, download the plugin file (a .zip file) from your account page. You’ll also find your unique license key & product ID there.

Step 2: Plugin Installation & Activation

In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New.

• Click on Upload Plugin at the top of the page.
• Select the WP Spotlight .zip file you downloaded, and click Install Now.
  

After installation, you will notice a active button. Just click on this active button and you are ready to go. If you somehow miss the activation - go to the plugins page, find WP Spotlight from the list, and activate the plugin. 

Step 3: Initial Setup – The Quick Start Guide

When WP Spotlight activates, a 2-step Quick Start Guide will appear automatically:

Product Overview

• The first panel gives you a brief introduction to WP Spotlight’s capabilities. This will cover the essentials of using WP Spotlight to search and manage key elements of your WordPress site.
• Click Next to proceed until the overview complete.
  

Key Binds Setup

• The next screen displays the default key bindings for WP Spotlight. These shortcuts are assigned to common actions, making it easy for you to open WP Spotlight and start searching by category (Users, Plugins, Themes, etc.).
• Customize Key Binds: You can personalize these key binds immediately if you prefer shortcuts that better fit your workflow. You’re allowed up to three key combinations per shortcut.
  
• Once you’ve reviewed or customized your key binds, click Finish.
  

Step 4: Start Using WP Spotlight

You’re now ready to use WP Spotlight! Here’s how to pull up WP Spotlight and start searching:

To Open WP Spotlight: Use the default key bind (Alt+S for both Windows and macOS).

To Close WP Spotlight: Press Esc or click outside the search window.
